You hear about experiences that change your life, this was one of them. As a Biologist by training, I smugly thought that my degrees and experiences would prepare me for this trip. I read everything about Africa I could get my hands on, I practiced in the recommended manner that all the big game writers said was essential. All that went right out the window as I was walking up on that Kudu. What a magnificent animal. I literally had tears in my eyes and couldn’t talk. I just stroked his flank and shook my head. I’m tearing up now as I write this. I learned a lot about Africa and myself. What a great bunch of people that made that trip possible.
