It just seems more violent than even a .475 LB. I remember seeing poor O'l James from Jersey taping up his bloody hands at the Y-O. First time I ever met him. It was cold and hard to grip his FA 83 .454. I'm certain he had some really bruiser loads too. I think he finished the hunt by borrowing a Bisley .41 GNR Hunter. May be the one I sold Andy, who had it rechambered, then I bought it back, and I still have it. He got his Barbary Ram though.
Your Magnum grip frame really helps those who get hammered in the knuckle. The Gunfighter helps me more with the flip I can't control. I get bit by the hammer. Both issues make you flinch in short order.
