In September or early October I have a lion hunt set up in South Africa where the big black maned lions live. With a lot of folks dropping out for various reasons my hunt price had dropped by 80% or so. If you are serious about a lion hunt there are 4 permits so I have room for 3 hunters with me. This is an $80,000 hunt and we get it for $12000. This includes everything except your airfare. It includes licenses, daily rates, trophy fees, everything for $12,000. And if you can shoot with your ass puckered it is almost a guarantee of a big lion. And this is rifle or handgun. Right now lions cannot be imported into the U.S. but there is a thing called the Enhancement program where if the area has too many of one species you are helping cull out the numbers. This is what the lady at Life Form Taxidermy told me recently. But even if I don't get to bring the lion home, I get the hunt of a lifetime plus plenty of pictures and videos if you like. This would be like a rhino or elephant hunt where you can't bring them home.

Those of you that have hunted with me in Africa know how hard John Abraham and his guys work to get you your trophy.

This is a hunt I wouldn't think of passing up and I sure hope 3 of you will join me. If you think you want to join me on this hunt give me a call or e-mail me. Remember there are only 3 permits left so think it over and then join me on this hunt. You can reach me at 928-853-9771.

Boy that is really the hunt of a lifetime, time

dangerous game so a rifle has to be at least .366 caliber (9.3) and handgun at least 366 or 375 caliber and up. A lion is a thin skinned animal so an extra large caliber (458 Win Mag) and such are not required. 375 H&H would be great. Our 378 GNR would be perfect in a handgun.

one other thing. The camp is for 4 hunters so no

non-hunters. The $12,000 is an extremely good price and won't be offered again. Normally any of the Big 5 animals are a minimum of $750 a day for your daily rates and some countries require a 21 day hunt which would be over $15000 right there. The license is normally $20,000 to $30,000 according to the country. That is $45,000 plus permits and such. The normal black mane lion hunt runs around $65,000 to $80,000 again according to the country and this hunt is all included at $12,000.

I still have 3 openings left. I have some folks that are interested but want to think it over a day or so, but if you really want the hunt of a life time, this is it, so don't wait too long. Once the 3 spots are taken, that's it. If you have any questions, call me at 928-527-4100 or on my cell at 928-853-9771.

I just talked to lauri, John's wife in Texas. John is on an

elephant hunt right now in Namibia and will hopefully be able to call me this evening with the rest of the info. When I talked to him last evening the reception was real bad so I missed some of the details like exactly when the hunt was and how many days. But my original lion hunt was scheduled for late September so it should be in that time frame. The main thing I needed to know was there were 4 permits for 4 hunters and the total price was $12,000. The other details I should have for you this weekend. But if your schedule is flexible and you want to hunt a big lion, then my recommendation is lock one of the spots down as yours and I will get the rest of the info in the next day or so. If you have a friend that wants to hunt lion, let him know about this too. Call me if you have any questions.

by the way, I am not a booking agent. I make not a

penny on this deal. I just enjoy hunting with friends more than going by myself. I just had 10 friends join me in Africa 2 months ago and they had a great time and took some great record book animals. This hunt is with the same outfitter, John Abraham, the owner of Madubula Safaris who has been a close friend since 1992. I have hunted Africa 15 times with John and taken almost 150 friends with me on those hunts. What I get out of this is a hunt I have wanted for many years but couldn't swing $80,000, so this trip at $12,000 is the best thing that has been offered to me in many years. I hope I can get 3 friends off here to join me on this hunt. If not then John will fill the camp up with 3 strangers. So think about this and call me if you have any questions. Don't pass this up and say later "I wish I had....."

Gary, I’m in for one spot

he said he can scrounge up another lion permit so you are a go. Here is our schedule as it stands now...
we fly out of Atlanta on Delta late in the day Sept 22
Non stop to Joburg.
Arrive in Joburg late day on the 23rd. Meet John there. Anne at Air2000 will have her people there to meet us and walk us thru customs and bypass all the normal hassles.
We overnight at a bed & breakfast
We either fly out on a charter on Sept. 24th or ride in a 10 passenger van to camp. John is having Lauri check on the cost difference in the charter and the van. The van is a 10 hour drive.
We arrive in camp in the North West province of South Africa late day on Sept. 24th. Unpack and sight in our guns.
The hunt starts on Sept 25 thru Oct 1st.
We drive or fly back to joburg and fly out on Oct 2nd
Arrive back in the U.S on Oct 3rd.

Larry, when you get a chance, call me at 928-853-9771 for more info.

Anne at Air 2000 is a miracle worker!
