After having lived so long with a person as one spirit it is a shock when your soul mate passes away. Part of you is ripped from your being and you have become totally adrift, a boat with no rudder. The grief may be as deep as your love was and may never end but become softer in time. It may ebb and flow as a deep fog, some days a deep sharp pain and others a longing, love and sorrow, joyful memory, and love. You will hopefully, slowly become whole again and rebuild yourself.
G-d will love you until then.
