Won’t go Lion hunting, so…….

reading about them. Tigers too. They are said to basically be like feral house kitty's, just bigger and meaner. In N.E. Arkansas there is this place called Turpentine Springs where they rescue big cats. We spent a couple days there with the kids, overnight actually. The side of a house trailer is the Tiger cage and they are peeking in your window all night! The little kids loved it. I was not sure my .40 cal. would have done much with a attacking cat but I was glad I had something.

The HUGE male African Lion had his nuts dragging the ground and stood about 6' at the top of his head! He grunted all night and looked like he wanted you to pet him. His magnificent mane was unblemished and perfect! They had a fence behind a fence for his enclosure. I truly enjoyed hearing that in the night. The Tigers however you could tell wanted to eat you, seriously. They too had two fences but the inner one had a top on it! The fences looked to be about 15' tall. They had a Leopard too, and some Ligers, which were abnormally huge.

I sure do respect those kitty's much less in a hunting pride working together in the wild!

My old bucket list for Africa includes Buffalo, Leopard, and Crocodile. Hippo on dry land is intriguing. They are said to feed on land at night and return to the safety of the water early morning. I bet it's exciting to get between them and the river! Not sure why my list evolved to that, it just did. Perhaps Freudian Capstick, which were largely based upon the old classics.

This family cruise had been planned last year for our 30th anniversary. My wife’s brother has Parkinson’s pretty bad at this point so will probably see no more cruises. My wife has lupus, Reynalds disease, Degenerative and rheumatoid arthritis and will probably see a foot amputation in the near future. She is as fit as a fiddle and a beautiful woman who is doing her best. We have 6 and 8 year old grand daughters who we took in and adopted because one of our 4 daughters decided she liked meth over Masters Degrees in accounting and business which the other 3 have and are doing extremely well for themselves. All 3 bought their own homes before age 23! Both grandchildren are very affected by her meth abuse. Both ADD and the older is high spectrum autistic with frequent and very long outbursts. The other is going the same way I’m afraid. If this hunt had been a week later I had her every blessing to do so. I love Gary’s Guns, have visited Gary and Colleen a few times and hope I’m a Misfit.
Just not the right timing as it seems to go in my life. Maybe next time…
