thin skinned animal and the heavy punch of the 450 GNR or 416 GNR is not really needed, so that brings me back to my 378 GNR. My second choice would be the 366 GNR which is legal for dangerous game in South Africa.

Now I don't know what the other guys are bringing, so I will let them speak for themselves. I don't know if they are bringing handguns or rifles or both. Handguns have to have at least an 8" barrel and rifles can't be a semi auto so there are some limitations.

I want to bring a revolver so we are building it right now. The barrel and cylinder were almost finished today and next comes the gripframe, which will be my Magnum gripframe. The Bisley Gunfighter gripframe is a great gripframe but batters my middle knuckle big time whereas the Magnum gripframe leaves about 3/8" between my knuckle and the back of the trigger guard, so I will probably go with the Magnum gripframe. The grips? Probably one of the laminated grips. Not the prettiest but the most durable.

The caliber will be the 429 GNR. It has the power of the 454 but shoots faster and flatter and with slightly less recoil so a second shot would be a bit quicker if needed.

This hunt came on us quicker than normal so we all have to make quick decisions as once we have decided which guns and which calibers we are going to use then we have to go to our nearest U.S. Customs office to register the guns. That takes a whole day for me as it is 3 hours down to south Phoenix, probably 30 minutes in Customs and 3 hours back up the hill, so a whole day is ruined, but it is necessary.

Then gather up all our paperwork, get some of it notarized, scan it and e-mail it to South Africa for our gun permits which usually takes 45 days. So we have no time to waste. Then sometime within 72 hours of flying out we have to have another covid test and hope for a negative result. So 2½ months sounds like a long time but to get all that we have to in that timeframe is going to take some hustling.
