summer and need a passport. I got this from one of our Arizona politicians. It says it is for new passports not renewals so hopefully if any of you have renewals you will be ok, but keep it in mind.....

Letter Regarding Passport Delays
I recently sent a letter to United States Secretary of State Anthony Blinken regarding the severe backlog of passports and delays Arizonans are experiencing for future international travel. Right now, the State Department has:
• Over 2.8 million passports backlogged in their system
• An 18 week delay on requesting a new passport
As our communities have re-opened, and we are starting to see individuals making international travel arrangements, I have asked for the State Department to be expanding resources and staffing for U.S. passports to help ensure Americans can receive this important document in a timely manner.
