TO WB: the joys of shooting percussion sixguns:
Wednesday, June 30, 2021, 11:24

This morning it took me just a little over two hours to get everything set up and fire 36 rounds through my 1851 Navy .36 5-1/2". It is right on for elevation and shootS a little bit to the right. It is a joy to shoot! 25 grains oF FFFg or Pyrodex or Triple-Seven all measured by volume are right at 950-1000 fps. I have a good supply of different percussion caps and the Remington #10 work just fine on the Slix Shot stainless steel nipples I installed before I ever tried to shoot it. I spent an hour preliminary cleaning it taking everything apart soaking the small parts. I need lunch and a nap for I go any further. Next step is the 1861 Navy 5-1/2" and then the 1860 Army 5-1/2" .44 and the 5-1/2" stainless Remington .44 and the............ it will be a long enjoyable summer.
