and her fight with cancer.

I am at the hospital where I have been since 3 am Friday morning when Allison had the first of two life saving surgeries. It looked OK Sunday am but then two additional drain removal procedures and mucus drainage from the brain tumors proved to be too much. Her spirit remains but the body has worn out. She agreed to a DNR Sunday and has been kept comfortable with heavy pain meds ever since. She still fights with remaining strength but time is limited. She is the toughest person I have known. Fentanyl has increased. Patti just got back from her house and there were envelopes from you and John Taffin in her mailbox. Many thanks to you and John for all you have done and for your generosity. Will update after transfer to Hospital Hospice.

She has been suffering through this for over 3 years. She is a warrior. Patti and Charlie have been through hell.
My thoughts and prayers are with them. I cannot imagine what they are suffering.
I hope that we can offer some support for the Herfs, but I really don't have the words.

This is an awful tragedy, if there was something we could do we would have done it. It tests our faith to see the truly innocent taken away. My words are meaningless to Charlie and Patti and of little consolation in their grief. I hope Their faith will carry them through this and they will recover in time carrying the good memories. Meanwhile I hope our love and understanding for you both will provide some small comfort, at least knowing you are not alone. please talk to us when you have those terrible moments of doubt and fear and remorse. We will be here for you...

There are many people praying for Allison and her family. She has touched many people she never has met, by the story of her focus an tenacity. A true fighter and inspiration for those facing difficulty. I salute this wonderful young woman and pray for God’s peace and will in His own time.

I still get stuff --nice stuff from my hospice. Hang in there are a lot folks that get better under the individual care of hospice or so they told me--you have my hope--love and prayers-- it will be two weeks for me tomorrow
