Thanks Gary for the fine heirloom piece

Another GNR unique custom. These not only provide me with selfish enjoyment but I try to share it with my close friends and my children. At the very least, they will continue to enjoy them, after I am done with it.

This is a 1861 Navy (the navy used .36 cal. as opposed to the 1860 army .44's) 6-shot C&B revolver. The "Avenger" monkier has a very colorful and interesting historical story attached, a legend of sorts. I am delighted with the work. I still have a bit of delicate attention to give the modified Dominican Republic Cigar box to complete the package. I've always wanted a kit like this. It's almost too nice to shoot! But what good is that?! I'll just be careful and really dedicated to cleaning after use.

It's fine as is, and while the kinetic energy figures look anemic compared to modern numbers, they are misleading. The .36 C&B (.375") is why a .358 cal. is called a .38! Also if one was so inclined, there are many "cylinder" conversions for both the .36 and .44 to adapt them to fire modern .38 Special and .45 Colt Cowboy lead loads. That might be a fun option. None of it requires a FFL either!

Thanks again Gary, these things will outlast all of us and be a tribute for the next generation. Being Black Powder and outside the current regulatory influences, perhaps that will extend their valid use.
