It’s their new .22 LR defense loading. Seems it was the first RF to meet the FBI specs. on gelatin penetration (12”?). Not that it makes it a cannon but a good selling point. 1050 fps from a snubby revolver. (Actually to do that it’s hotted up considerably) The bullet is a “flat tipped” solid 29 gr. Gee that does sound familiar. Personally I would have gone to a heavier slower bullet.
It’s making me want to do some testing! See how muc weight the flat top tool removes (5 gr.?). Does it speed up the velocity to any notable levels?
One thing is proven, a reasonable flat meplat will greatly enhance “straight” penetration over a classic round nose.
