It’s their new .22 LR defense loading. Seems it was the first RF to meet the FBI specs. on gelatin penetration (12”?). Not that it makes it a cannon but a good selling point. 1050 fps from a snubby revolver. (Actually to do that it’s hotted up considerably) The bullet is a “flat tipped” solid 29 gr. Gee that does sound familiar. Personally I would have gone to a heavier slower bullet.

It’s making me want to do some testing! See how muc weight the flat top tool removes (5 gr.?). Does it speed up the velocity to any notable levels?

One thing is proven, a reasonable flat meplat will greatly enhance “straight” penetration over a classic round nose.

don't tell them it is the 22 Long. The 22 LR is hard

enough to get. The 22 Long is impossible to get these days. We got 2 bricks of 22 Long a while back in an estate and I thought folks were going to fight over it.

I bet some of the younger crowd don't know what the 22 Long

is. I bet they don't know there is a 22 Short, 22 Long and a 22 long Rifle, and of course the 22 Magnum. There are a few others that should be ignored or let GNR tell you about them.

Or the people who think "22" (meaning 22LR)

Is inadequate. But think the 5.7 is fantastic... or the 5.56 is a good all-pirpose... but don't realize its all 22.

Charlie your Mother was right. You are grade A

shitbird. I liked you better when you drank a lot and bothered me endlessly when I was in radio. But I'll manage to put up with you. But don't expect a Christmas card.

So Charlie A is not Charlie Augustine from HHC?

with Federal bulk pack LR HPs. Simply a lighter bullet might net much of that velocity increase, but that is only a guess.
