Should someone explain static electricity & ground straps?

Does look like fun though.

Done that!

fired into a shallow creek will do the same thing. A .30-30,.357 or .44 mag worked for deeper water.

extreme fishing in a creek near a certain person's
house. A big M-80 or original Cherry bomb thrown in a fairly deep creek would stun the fish and they would come to the top, flopping around in circles. They would come to in a couple of minutes but in the meantime one could pick out a couple of big ones for dinner.

Another that did just as well was sodium carbide, about 2 tablespoons in a baby food jar with a few small stones for weight. Put in 2 tablespoons of water, screw the lid in tight and pitch in the creek. In a bit it went off with a big boom and lots of water everywhere. Again pick out the nicer ones for dinner. I was told that you would even get a few snapping turtles floating to the top. They all came back to life in a few minutes so no harm done and you ended up with some good eating fish and maybe a big snapper turtle if you liked them.
