The NAZIs fled to Argentina and basically adapted the German design for that military. Later they morphed into H&K and the M91. It was a good gun though, just clunky and rough on brass. But for an army rifle getting the brass out and another in trumps being subtle.
I kept the L1A1 though, even though they don’t shoot quite as accurately. There is more to fiddle with on it.
The Galil, an Israeli AK, is intriguing.
