guys come in the shop with tales of hitting elk with these bullets and the animal running off and not finding them. They have never been truly proven to be as effective on animals like elk as a lead core bullet. If you hit a shoulder bone they seem to work OK but a hit anywhere else is a big if. I will not use a Barnes bullet or any other solid brass bullet.
