This pic first caught my eye as he reminded me of my Grandpaw who was about half Indian. The little M92 he is toting is sweet. Looks like a 16” and the special rear sight. I note the band at the front of the barrel and dovetailed front sight. I have a Rossi .357 stls that is pretty close. But the sights need some help.

Jim how is muzzle blast with a 16” .30-30 and factory loads?!

I have the cheesy elastic nylon that gets loose. They are expensive but a fantastic accessory, the leather ones.

the wood under the carrier will be a different color. We have a couple of rifles in here now to do work on and one thing is to refinish the wood due to the different colors in the stock.

but hate to lose the velocity I would lose with my favorite cast loads. And the 32WCF does not especially need to be weaker. But I still wish there was a free lunch in physics.

They do expand very nicely right now, within my ranges, but would not take much loss to lose that range.

at as high a velocity as I can for expansion, without leading, and to get there have had to use a caseful of slow powder. I mess with this much at all and would need scrap everything and go with fancier bullets and hotter powders, where right now my pressures are not much over factory loads, and great brass life. I have thought about this for about 30yrs, and can ponder it for another 30, I suppose.

and about zero weight loss. 1/2"@50yds and 3/4"@75yds. Hate to mess with a good thing. Will leave that to younger folk.

Those are 6-shot groups. It formerly did 1/4" tighter,

did NOT get 1/4"@50. Those days are gone, now. Still no problem with living with 3/4"@75, which I will take with no problem, it being my preferred universal home defense and hunting rifle, and no long shots, ever.
