Reeder Custom Guns - Damn snakes

My son lives near ft worth tx, and was wanting a good dog to run with and take to the lake when he goes fishing. We finally found some catahola leopard pups that weren't terrible expensive in El Paso on a ranch, and she was even going to take his pup to him. Well last night she heard the dogs raising hell and went out to see what was going on ,a f##$$%* rattle snake bit 4 out of the 5 and they died this morning, she is going to let him take the last one, but it still sucks. I would appreciate a few prayers him that puppy is exactly what he needs, he has been through alot in the last year. Thanks

I live near Fort Worth, TX as well.
Please tell him to watch that pup, as the copperheads
are really bad this year.
I have 7 dogs and I have run out of snake shot.
I have to go out at dusk every night and hunt before I let them out.
Now the News says some moron in the metroplex let his "pet" cobra escape!

Man, that stinks. I pray this one works out for him. A good dog is great to have around. On a similar thought, having your dog snake trained in that kind of country makes a lot of sense. They'll let you know about the danger, but will keep their distance until you can show up to take care of business.

Keep benadryl handy, and keep the dogs (or pups) on a heavy dose of it until the swelling starts to go back down. My German Shorthair got bit for the first time last Friday. She weighs 60lbs and i gave her 4 pills every 4 to 6 hours for the first 2 days, then 3 pills every 4 to 6 hours for another day. Then 2 pills every 4 to 6 hours. She is almost back to abnormal now with loose floppy skin around her neck. Another dog was bit at the same time, it was his second time being bit. He only weighs 52lbs and i started him out with 3 pills every 4 to 6 hours. He has a hole in the side of his face where he was bit and has a little swelling around the bite area.
Hope this benadryl trick helps someone “down the road” , i haven’t lost a dog since i started using benadryl, carry it with you in snake country.
