WB, an hour after reading your post about a bisley SSA
in.32 WCF,I walked into a local shop that had one in the case. 1901, reblued, rough bore.
Marked $1825.00
They are hidden gems, cheaper than a SAA

At least right now! They didn’t make near as many. The most rare I think is a genuine .38 Special. Only two were made.
I’m looking over two for $1500 right now. All matching re-blue .32 WCF and a miss matched .45 with fair bore. Both are $1500. In high school they were $400-500! But I was making $80 a week. Lol

I sold an old gold piece double eagle for exactly enough to buy it! Like the old saying goes, a $20 gold piece buys a Colt SA.

and otherwise restore old Colts. ANYTHING with the Turnbull name on a refinish commands a premium and I guess they do very good work, but it costs too. If Gary still takes on projects like that I think he can do just as well, and at a better price point, faster.
IF a guy can find a good foundation Colt Bisley for the $1500 range and have it professionally refinished he might still be on the good side of $1000 profit. It's hard to sell high end but they are seemingly bringing it. Old Colts out pace the stock market as investments on a regular basis.

as some are well over $2k. The fact that has been re-blued (like mine) will hold that price down some to where it is still a good shooter value or candidate for a full resto job.
The same gun with original finish, even not as clean, will fetch closer to $3k in the right market! A .44 or .45 would be a quicker seller and odd calibers go even higher.
