Reeder Custom Guns - Ruger SR1911 in 10mm?

A while back I bought a Ruger SR1911 in 10mm.

Maybe I am going through a phase but I wonder if I should sell it? I am more of a revolver shooter vs a centerfire autoloader shooter. I reload and hate chasing brass.

The other day I was in my friend's gun shop and he has a nice SW M69 with a 4" barrel. Although I have a few 44 magnums I like the more compact nature of this particular revolver.

So I am thinking should I sell the 10mm and use the funds to obtain the M69?

I am kind of going through a minimalist phase. Getting rid of things I do not use. I really do not use the 10mm much and it is one additional caliber in my collection.

a 4” 29 mountain revolver with the tapered barrel and it was nice but not much more compact than my 6” 29. I shoot the 69 often mostly using 44spec or midrange 44 mag loads. Full house 44mags in my gun using 24gr h110 and 240gr xtp are stout but not ridiculous. Usually it’s 240gr plated with 9.5gr Longshot, more pleasant and about 1k fps.

Chasing brass is why I offloaded my old Model Of The 1911 Norinco years ago. Then recently I was able to pick up Jeff Quinn's personal SR1911 in 45 ACP. It was fun to shoot a 1911 again, but there's that whole brass thing. So while I understand you're reluctance to chase brass, I also believe having a 1911 type pistol around is a good thing. This one is going nowhere, but will only see occasional range trips. Another thing to think about, with current shortages, is sometimes it's good to have an "oddball" cartridge gun as the brass/ammo/bullets may be available when more popular sizes are off the shelves. I was tempted to pick up a 22 TCM for the simple reason there was about a case of the ammo available at the local Farm and Ranch store - and it sat there for ages. :-D

Of thing. I prefer revolvers also. Sold most of the semi’s and keeping the revolvers. Just enjoy shooting them more. Kind of like with my equines. Kept the mule, sold the extra horses.

Well, you need one of them carpenter saws to cut the stock off. Then you'll need a hacksaw to shorten the barrel to handgun length. Now, each end will need a lil bit of touch up work to get smooth. You should see some space savings after a dozen or so conversions.
