Taking my wife out for a gun shoping date

I resolved to NOT AT ALL influence her decision. To do that would instill a spark of doubt in the choice. It's all Momma's rig.

We first looked at the M&P E-Z in .380 and 9mm. She liked both but noted the handier feel of the .380. Then she had some anxiety over the thumb safety feature or not. You can have either. We also looked at the Walther CCP, which she also really liked and it was the easiest slide for her to manipulate, being a blow back gun, not a barrel locking model. The dealer pulled out the Hellcat, the new Ruger Max-9, Glock 43 (which she instantly dispelled, "I don't like that"). In the end Momma walked out of the store with a brand new SIG 365X. Blow me down!

The ergonomics, sighting, short trigger pull, and capacity were all factors. That glow in the dark front sight was really influential, as was the slide manipulation. That surprised me. But we were very fortunate to be able to pull out about all the currently featured CCW semi's out and compare them side by side. You couldn't do that a few months ago.

It is a good size. I usually carry a PM45 or PM9 of late and was a bit shocked that the 365 is actually bigger. That Kahr is something else as a small .45 and it uses most 1911 mags. The PM9 feels lots smaller than the .45 but is not. But the SIG for about the same size and weight does afford almost twice the capacity! The slides of my carry guns are too stiff for here to easily manipulate even with her left, stronger hand. It's all her choice.
