Reeder Custom Guns - Patterned the Benelli SBE 3 today.

It is going back to the factory.

I shot a test pattern at 30 yards and it is very high and to the left.

For the fun of it I shot two deer slugs with the improved cylinder choke in the gun. Two holes touching at 30 yards at about 8 inches 10 o'clock.

Completely unacceptable. So the gun will go back to Benelli this coming week.

If the gun is new it should have a manual and a stock adjustment shim kit. You will have a cast shim and about 3 height shims. You should be able to get it to 60/40 with one. You may need to adjust your length of pull first. They sell different length pads. That is the only thing bad about Benelli. They don't use a flat butt you can screw into. You should be able to make it work. Go to a club or sporting clays range and ask for help. You will find some great people and a place to shoot.

lower the point of impact the most and it still shoots high and to the left.

So I sent an electronic form to Benelli on the matter and I await their reply.

and have it done right. Forget all this shim crap. Get it done by the folks that know what they are doing.

so I installed the one that is supposed to drop the point of impact at the lowest amount. It is still too high and to the left. No way would I hunt turkey with this gun much less anything else.

So I sent an electronic form awaiting their reply.

I WOULD BE RELUCTANT TO DO ANYTHING AT ALL THAT COULD BE CONSTRUED AS VOIDING THE WARRANY
AND BESIDES IT'S A BRAND NEW GUN -- OFF A LITTLE BIT I CAN UNDERSTAND

if the gun has a warranty send it back to the factory

With the shotgun they give you shims
