Reeder Custom Guns - Anyone carry a K or L frame IWB?

I have three 4" that I'd like to carry without feeling like I have a can of soda shoved in my britches. Anyone have some success. I also can use a IWB for the J and SP101 too. I found a hybrid leather/kidex cheap enough to try.

What are guys actually using?

I use a Simply Rugged Pancake with "inside out straps". Or sometimes I use my old original Simply Rugged hand sewn holster (one of his earliest production) and just tuck it in my waistband "modified Mexican carry". Not strapped to anything, but carried in a holster held in place by friction. Tucked just behind my hipbone it rides quite unobtrusively under an untucked shirt tail.

.44 Special and it's good, but it hurts my bony hip. I thought about using rubber cement and gluing sheepskin on the inboard side. It's boned for the gun and the cylinder bump juts out into my hip.

and they were comfortable once I got in them. But just too much. I found one with that leather backing and kydex front but about half that size (and price). Not much to them actually but I like the flat body side concept. I need it more shaped like me on that side and I have to have a good sweat shield built into the design.

Alien Gear, I carry a ultra lite 1911 in 45 acp very comfortable and you can't see any print even in a tee shirt

and G43. Never have used a holster as they otherwise all printed too much, rather as a concealed toaster or breadbox. It would be different if I were a law officer habitually tussling with folk or chasing folk. And now rowing strongly into senior years, I would hurt myself if I tried to fight. So, I just stick in my britches and go.

That's top drawer though for sure! Here in the south leather gets so yucky though in the terrible humidity. I've been carrying little flat stls. & plastic autos in kydex, riding my motorcycle commuting and mowing etc.

sure what I want. He's my pic on that for sure. I hope to keep my first real Colt SAA, the little Bisley. Too true about the shortness, I'm beginning to feel it in earnest. I bough a hat from him last week and he personally emailed me. That was real nice.

I really like the holster Elmer Keith describes as being made by A.H. Hardy. Instead of a hammer thong the holster has a flap of leather at the front with a hole in it. When the gun is in the holster, the hammer is let down on the flap. The firing pin goes through the hole and the gun is held securely in place. As you draw it you pull the hammer back a bit and it slips right out.

I used one that I made for years .. especially on horseback ..after the time the jackass tried to shoot me.

I inherited a pretty nice kit for leather making. Bunches of stamping tools too. It may provide some of my late in life pastime to look forward to.

I have a 3 inch SP101 in .357 and a 3 inch L frame in .44 spcl. Yes they are on the heavy side but they are solid revolvers that I would carry anywhere......

Works pretty good with a Combat Masterpiece. A simply rugged pancake for a 2.5 inch L frame too - 686's just seem a bit heavy for iwb.
