475 cast bullets

Those of you using cast in the 475 Lb, do you have better results with .475,.476 or .477? Found a guy making some and his drops at .477 but he can size the to 476 if need be.
I know it's only a couple thousandths, so probably no biggie for an Encore.
I had a revolver and used .476".

and kicked myself silly, fought a flinch and all. Then I figured out that a 325 gr. bullet recoiled lots less, even at higher velocity and would shoot through even a big piggy.
So that is what I switched to before transitioning to my .510 GNR kit. I shoot 350-370 gr. bullets from it mostly. 4227 loads are accurate and also a notch under hot H110 beasties.
I stay at .475 and it works fine. We shoot a couple

Your Encore should not be picky, but over .476 would

Worry me a little. It adds diameter to the ctg. And could get tight chambering. Like Gary said if you are going to be off any it’s better to be on the smaller end.
Revolvers really need to be checked before a bulk order commitment. With Gary shooting his from 20 different guns he made the perfect choice at .475”. The chamber throats might be .476 and not accept a .477”. But that would shoot a .475 or .476 fine. I know guys that just have to get it 100% matched and that’s great. In large it’s lost on me, I can’t shoot that good. But cutting edge perfect is nice when it can effectively be achieved.
Powder coating bullets bumps them up around 0.003” too so you could can take an undersize (say .355 or .308) and bump it up for other applications. Shooting 9mm from .357 or .308 bullets from oversized military notes. That’s fun and a handy trick.

I shoot a lot of 480 Ruger and 475 Linebaugh. Cast and size my own bullets to .476 very accurate and no problems chambering.
There are some folks that make custom sizers but

you can usually manage. In .510 GNR loading I NEED a .510" bullet for proper fit. Lyman only makes a standard .512" die for the 450 machine. So I lubesize to .512", from a .515" drop, and then push through a LEE .510" sizer. It works for me. But you see how you can manipulate available methods. My cylinder throats are .511" and you can't fit a .512" bullet in them.
