But the grocery store had these (2x more for 88 cents a pack). Same copper scrubber material for removing lead from bores. The soft copper wash patches right out afterward. Always keep an eye out for value in unlikely places.

bronze wool, preferably 0000 is great for taking light rust off a firearm. With a bit of oil sprayed on a dab of it, it will take care of most light rust. Rust that is deep and imbedded in the steel will be better but not totally gone. The good thing is it will remove light rust without removing the bluing. We use a lot of it here in the shop.

Brass or bronze wool is nowhere to be found over

The counter around here. But it can easily be ordered online. It does not scratch steel under normal use.
