Thinking about this idea...

I obtained a copy of Predator Extreme magazine in my mailbox yesterday and one writer wrote an article on hunting with e-bikes.

An e-bike is a mountain bike with an electric motor that gives the pedals a "kick" as you use it. When you pedal the motor kicks in and gives a little push so you do not have to exert as much effort.

These things are gaining in popularity and I did try one in the recent past. They are kind of fun to use.

There is also a group of people who use them for hunting. I had a "brain fart" of sorts regarding hunting off of an e-bike.

Just curious, anyone here hunt with a mountain bike or e-bike?

Patrick McManus wrote a lot about hunting from a bike ..

out with the front legs over his shoulders and the back legs tied around his waist and he was on a bike. This was years ago way before mountain bikes.

Here's one of his quotes:
“Tell her that a gun collection is like wilderness. Even though we don’t use all of it all the time, we need to know that it’s there.” —Gunrunning…Past Your Wife, September 1985

Option. They can get quite pricey. There's a two wheel trailer available that you can haul your kill out on. The wife and I have a coupke of ebikes and regularly ride 10-15 miles, no problem. I can really see using one instead of a four wheeler

There are places in New England that are

kind of friendly towards mt bikes and e bikes.

I was thinking of getting one in the near future to cruise the trails and old roads of NH.
