This is NOT a gun, but a “signaling device”. Loaded with black powder laden pyrotechnics it’s perfectly legal used as intended. BLM people shooting even flares at COPs it’s a weapon. Trying to make harmful ammo is also a no-no. Such is the law.

I’m interested in making “bird bangers” and “flash-bang” projectiles to scare away coyotes away from our goats. Plus it just looked like fun. 2” long cases with about 1” diameter payloads.

Wish we could still get them, and wish i would have bought more of them back in the early 90’s. I believe it was George’s Hole In The Wall gun store in Coos Bay, Oregon that i bought them from.

gets a fairly steady supply of the bloop BANG shells from the game warden to attempt to disuade the elk from eating his alfalfa and such down to the roots. Chasing elk in the evening is one of our favorite "chores" to participate in when visiting.

A little pistol that is the size and appearance of a .25 auto. It has a blunderbuss miniature muzzle and an odd hammer amidships. 6mm blanks are used to propel basically M-80 firecrackers a good distance, maybe 100 yds! You can also get projectiles that make a shrieking sound. Usually the seller requires a simple form signature proclaiming the intended use is agriculture preservation.

The projectiles, much less 6mm blanks, are at a cost. It’s high enough,$2 per bang, that economy limits the use for jollies. The 26.5mm bird bangers run anywhere from $7-15 each! Even me making them probably run into the $3-4 range depending on my sourcing components. But for my labor it’s fun and it includes the boys. There is a lot of physical science and tech in building successful pyrotechnics.
