Loaded one light and caught the ball in a pile of rags. Just for measurement purposes. Fired a couple full loads of Pyrodex P into some hardwood to see the power level.

For Javelina it would work but you would want to be close. That's not a problem with Javelina if you hunt slow and careful. I think the 1851 or the later model Navy would be better due to the ability to load a heavier charge. I have killed 'em with a .22 and the .36 will do more than that.

After I play with some 3Fg loads I will personally know more about the power level. But I like the little thing!
