Picked up a pretty nice old Ruger Flat Gate .22 the other day for a good price, wanted one for years.
A dandy revolver!

A shooter-grade Ruger Flatgate is on my short list.

That's what this one is, has some wear and character so it will be a shooter. I love the older guns myself, just something about the way they look.

Yours looks to have more of the finish still on it than mine does, I've heard they shoot good hopefully mine will. I gave $400 for it so I don't think I got hurt on the deal.
Those always looked to me as the recipient

Of a parts purchaser insider scheme to skim company funds. I understand the novelty of them these days but I don’t lament them over my 1957 vintage with upgraded real Sam bar stags! Lol
I figure you could “make” a flat gate part in your garage from bits laying about, and a little hand filing/fitting.

And they banned the export of it? Maybe the US banned the import, not sure. It has some unique characteristics to it that others don’t have. Maybe Gary can explain the different types. I heard Elk can shrink unless it’s prepared correctly.

SURROUNDING AREAS. I SEE MANY TALK OF "SAND BAR STAGS". DON'T KNOW WHERE THEY FIND SUCH. PERHAPS THE SAME PLACE AS PARTRIDGE SIGHTS AND MUZZLE BREAKS.
And "boolits"

a few years back. Their reasoning was we shouldn't kill all these stags just to get their horns. Idiots. We import the Mongolian Stag and I really like it better than the Sambar stag mainly because each set of grips are different, more like old bone. Plus it is porous which keeps it from being real slick.
