My fire-forming loads utilizing “Cream-O-Wheat” or maybe it was Malt-O-Meal (rice cereal anyway) for some reason scoured out the bores mirror clean! The compressed rice acts like a solid projectile in the bore and seemed to remove any traces of lead fouling.
I did not purposefully use it on a badly fouled bore but it was an observation. Maybe a million dollar idea, cleaning rounds! Lol. For giggles you might take note on how they fare. You do NOT want to use any filler in a bottleneck case. Even if the old Lyman manual says it’s ok. Perhaps their very light charges let them get away with it. When pushed hard the cereal acts like a solid.
Otherwise it’s bronze or brass scrubbing pad material on a stainless cleaning brush. Some work but effective.
