Reeder Custom Guns - Been quite awhile since I have been on here, but

its still a great forum and hasn't changed a bit, which is great. Gary and his crew are still turning out the best darn custom guns and at unbelievable prices considering all the price gouging going on as of late. Great conversations too, as always. Darn, I missed those WB experiments and ramblings...its great he is still on here...gosh we need some humor right now too. I spent about 4 hours reading the forum back pages and notes and have much more to catch up on...learned plenty as always. Great photos and stories on the misfits lion hunting...just awesome. I hope the upcoming HHC Alcorn has arranged gets filled up as its a great time to connect the misfits for a great outing. Cheers everyone.

It reminded me that I have a Reeder .500 Nitro Encore barrel I've not fitted as of yet. I've about kicked myself silly and these days I prefer reduced loads for myself. I let newbies try the full house loads for the experience.

not a slamming you get from a 338 win mag or such. Its is a bit worrisome though when you hold a cartridge in your hand or compare it to a 30-06. I like the nitro's too..i have a #1 in 450-400 and a #1 Gary did in the 470 NE. That one shoots factory Federal 500gr softs and the 500gr mono solids into the same hole at 50 yards w/o moving the sights.....about all one could ask for, and its just a mild push.

I may build one like you have with synthetic stocks and just use a red dot so guys won't get scope eyebrow. Honestly they are very good shooters and with Trailboss they are pleasant to shoot. A 500 gr. bullet running 1200 fps is hard to stop.

Need to roll with the recoil and not brace it like I did. But was not as bad as a short 12 ga single barrel I have, that thing just plain hurts! Does make for a good gun to have in the trunk or behind a truck seat.
