I've not shot any Pyrodex in decades. Thankfully TomR picked up a few pounds of FFFg for me a few years ago. That's kept the smokepistols smokin' the last few trips north.

There's just something "right" about burning FFFg in an old style resolver. My Pietta 1860 cleaned right up with a bit of Ballistol and water. I recall Pyrodex tending to give me issues in preventing rust years ago, but didn't have Ballistol available so don't know if that'd resolve that particular problem or not.

Did you ever come across "cartridge grade" Pyrodex? I actually used some of that in the Old Army years ago as it was the only thing on the shelf. I don't know if they still make it or not. It was bad enough in the ROA, it'd probably be way too coarse for your smaller bore.
