In a much younger life I did a bit of arrowhead hunting. On one of my outings I found this case, I don't remember if it was in a cave or just on the desert floor. I am not even sure of age. Thanks for looking.

the 44 Henry was only 0.875" long. This one's more likely a 44 Long.

the most common I believe. In the days before penicillin and such folks feared the blood poisoning possibility due to the outside lubricated bullet more than they did the "knock down power" (giggle, snort) of the mighty 41 rimfire. An old cowboy I knew up in Craig, CO used to have one of those and about a half box of the ammo. I've often wondered what happened to it when he passed on. Hopefully it went to one of his grandsons who appreciates firearms.
