It’s pretty funny. I trade him stuff I don’t want or need and he trades me stuff he can’t sell, except to a nut like me. I got a full Lyman 310 load kit for .45-70 (to go with my Sharps) which was complete EXCEPT for this little part called the “cartridge adapter die”, a small ring in the handles. They are numbered according to size. I don’t think it truly “sizes” the case. Perhaps it maintains concentric alignment?

The handles I got included a #5 “die” ring. That’s for .30/40, .35 Rem, .220 Swift etc. .45-70 uses #10. I find I have others in #2 (06’ size) and #6 (.38/55). So I’m looking for an adapter ring #10 or one I can machine to the larger specs! I never even noticed that little ring before.

I have a #10 I will give you.

I don’t think they were rare but folks just have them all put away, long forgotten.

What are your thoughts on Sharps shooting? BP or smokeless?

I have parts and peices of 310 tools ...

handles .. dies ... I only use the 38/357 stuff and the .44 Special stuff. I looked through my stash and there was a #10 that had your name on it.

I don't know anything at all about a Sharps. Never fired one.

We'll have to fix that soon!

i would like to buy them from you, providing you don't need them.

I don't have 32WCF and I am keeping the 45 Colt stuff sorry.

go with the bottom end one and you will be fine, or at least at good as you are now.

Yeah, the Trapdoor level loads...

I got some heavy cast bullets (I prefer the 300 gr. actually - they shoot flatter). I had to use a gram scale to weigh them, but they were given to me, 516 gr. lubed and checked. Trail Boss is a good light load (subsonic) but I need a bit hotter powder to get it to real buffalo gun speed (1100-1200 fps).

Black powder is a bit complex. Drop tubes, softer lube, and grease cookies. Maybe a some later.
