Somehow, it will all be “the guns” fault.

The movie is a western so I assume the gun is a Colt SAA or Colt SAA copy and a live round in the gun should have been obvious. And the idiot had to have on purpose cocked the gun before pulling the trigger. So there was no "accidental shooting" involved.

a strange thing in that the people on The Five

including Gutfield all seemed to be pro gun. Gutfield even came out and said that everyone involved in that movie should have taken the NRA's safe handling course. He even mentioned that he had a lot of guns and had taken the NRA course. Even the 3 women on there all seemed to be pro gun and all were slamming the gun control groups for getting on the various shows mouthing off about gun control. Strange to see 5 or 6 people all pro gun or at least not anti gun on a show like The Five.

THE FIVE IS USUALLY PRETTY STRAIGHT UP

SOUNDS LIKE A SET UP OF SORTS TO ME - THERE HAD BEEN LABOR ISSUES & LOTS OF GRUMBLING
THERE HAD ALREADY BEEN SEVERAL UNEXPLAINED DISCHARGES OF WEAPONS
ALMOST SOUNDS LIKE SOMEONE WAS REALLY PISSED OFF ABOUT THEIR WORKING CONDITIONS & SLIPPED A LIVE ROUND IN RIGHT UNDER THEIR NOSES
A LOT OF THOSE PEOPLE WORKING IN THAT INDUSTRY ARE KINDA GOOFY AREN'T THEY ?
OH WELL ! -- THE FILTHY MEDIA IS GONNA RUN WITH IT AS LONG & HARD AS THEY CAN
WE ALL KNOW THAT

Bottom line,

Baldwin didn't check the gun before using it.

good points

A couple messages down, BigD makes a perfect summation:

Alec Baldwin pointed a gun at a human being.
Alec Baldwin pulled the trigger.
Alec Baldwin killed one human and injured anther.
He should be charged with Negligent Homicide and Reckless Endangerment

Gary right! The hammer was back and didn’t

Didn’t know how to lower it back down without the gun going off. Just my opinion.

Amen. And everything he will ever own.

This was a rehearsal, but protective screen should have been up since the camera operator needed rehearsal also in operating with a screen for live fire filming.

He’s a POC no doubt. I’d not wish that agony on anyone

No matter. Horseplay, a moment of stupidity, outright negligence. An act that can never be undone, never forgotten, with you always. In this life actions have consequences and then we are left to deal with them. Many of those involved will never be the same. The dead certainly. The residuals will haunt until the end. We have free will, left to our own devices we are doomed. He was to blame.

Never point a gun at anything you do not wish to destroy.

Thell Reed's daughter is/was the armorer.

Fox is being irresponsible in their reporting in trying to make her sound incompetent, when she may have practiced safety protocols to perfection.

Baldwin and the directors are another matter. There had already been several NDs on this low budget set. Union had complained of them and other unsafe conditions.

Camera operators are supposed to be shielded by a clearview impact resistant screen.

The assistant director grabbed one of three guns off a parked cart and pronounced it unloaded without checking it, and neither did Baldwin check it, a critical breakdown of safety practices by both of them.

And Baldwin is both the star AND producer of this film. His production company SHOULD be carrying insurance, but the liability costs could be enormous. They will obviously be trying to settle out of court as swiftly as possible, but no matter what, it is going to cost him enormously in quite a few ways.

if Thell Reed's daughter was the armorer then

she is not at fault. She grew up with one of the most sought after armorers and gun use instructors in the business. Being a woman she is just an easy scapegoat and someone to place the blame on.

Sounds as if she was not even allowed on-set,

due to their fear of the Chi-Com Flu. If so, they threw gun safety out the window for virus safety. Sounds also as if some manner of blank was fired, going by descriptions of those there, a whip-like sound.

I wonder if the armorer was tasked with providing three guns, only one or two of them empty? All hypothesis, and investigation will show the chain of failures which led to this death.

Baldwin's production company and the directors he hired will bear ultimate responsibility.
