Girsan is importing one, as well, though we have yet to get our hands on one. Being a Hi Power freak, I imagine I will have to get one of each.

I wonder if Springfield is importing them from a foreign manufacturer, and if so, who?

are machined forgings. Been a while since I kept up with SA, but formerly their 1911 frames/slides were import rough forgings machined stateside and them heavily using MIM/cast other parts, along with a two-piece barrel where chamber/lugs a machined forging and the rifled barrel sleeved to that.
