are machined forgings. Been a while since I kept up with SA, but formerly their 1911 frames/slides were import rough forgings machined stateside and them heavily using MIM/cast other parts, along with a two-piece barrel where chamber/lugs a machined forging and the rifled barrel sleeved to that.
