This is a single shot "derringer" made in Ducktown Tennessee. Now here is the good part. It is chambered in 45-70, 410 gauge or 45 Long Colt. Pure all American pot metal or something similar. This was in the estate we picked up recently. It is also not for sale. I imagine WB has one of these. Maybe 2.

I believe. They work and have never heard of one blowing up, but sure sting a might in .410. Did not care for the safety as it disengages when hammer pulled back.

Derringers, whether single shot or revolver such as NAA are notorious for getting hammers eased back in front pockets purely from clothing binding when moving. Not the gun for tighter fitting clothes.

to it but I will pass on shooting it as it is loose and has no real gripframe to hang on to. I don't consider it safe, especially in 45-70 so I will not take any chances and sell it to anyone.

as .410 or .45 Colt in any derringer, a real stinging slap to palm as if hand swatted with a paddle. In .45-70 I could see you digging it out of a wall behind you if fired indoors, or breaking out a ladder if inclined to retrieve it off the roof after firing it outdoors. They sold also a long barrel version with metal shoulder stock for a poor man .410 shotgun. It was until lately maybe a $125 used gun, before things got insane. You are not losing much by using as a paperweight or as ballast in a toilet tank.

And then, despite it being a very low-observable and good one for that suprise blast, it is unsafe without the safety engaged and fumbling with that ruins element of suprise.

Sure would not want to bellyshoot some armed guy with a .45 Colt slug, and unlikely to have time to level it to his face.

Had several such assorted derringers and none stayed around due to "now, what are you going to do with it if you need it?".
