I’m not a semi auto guy and have always wanted to know what determines the slide will stay open after the last cartridges is shot and ejected. When I buy my next semi auto wether it be 10 mm or 22 cal I would like this feature. Consider it a kinda like an online dating question if you may. Why wouldn’t this just be standard operating for semi auto’s?

MOSTLY IS--HARD TO FIND A CURRENT

and get hammered quite rudely for doing so. Name calling, to boot, and insults. I had heard this was a Christian site, but no manner of Christianity I am familiar with, for sure. Something quite the opposite. Of which I want no part.

have never seen a better group of Christians in my life. If you think these Misfits are not up to your level of Christianity then you need to go post on one of the Amish sites (do they have computers?). We don't need any "holier than thou" folks on here.

wow, did I call him any rude names or insult him?

If anything I think he called us names and insulted us. And again I agree with GNR. We are just normal folks on here, no better or no worse than your average Christian. I personally enjoy every aspect of this forum and there is not another on the internet like it.

Jared, I didn't see any lewd names or insults

in your posts. Actually I think this is the same guy that was on here a year or so ago and he got ticked off and left in a huff and said the same things about us not being Christians and insulting him.

We have an Amish customer that comes

EXAMPLE -- GUY ASKS - HOW CAN I SPLIT A LOW LEVEL SIGNAL FOR BIAMPING -- SIMPLE ANSWER -- GET A Y ADAPTER & PLUG IT UP & GIVE IT WHIRL
NO ONE EVER ANSWERS THE GUY
THEY BURY HIM IN IMPEDANCE MATCHING OF AMP & PREAMP & WITHIN FOUR POSTS THEY HAVE CONVINCED THE POOR GUY HE NEEDS TWO $400 ELECTRONIC CROSSOVERS WITH GROUND REFERENCED TO YADDA YADDA YADDA
SAME EVERYWHERE -- CANT GET A SIMPLE STRAIGHT ANSWER TO NOTHING ANYMORE

and a PS on that last post. Most of us come to this forum

to enjoy time with our friends and hopefully learn something along the way about reloading and shooting. Mr. Taffin often jumps in and helps us out with an answer to our reloading questions or gun questions and GNR has most of our answers on handgun hunting but then this Old Fart jumps in and it is like being in trigonometry class again and listening to a lot of useless info.

What determines it is generally the magazind

follower on an empty magazine can push up on a slide/bolt catch, where the follower cannot touch that catch/stop/lock when depressed by ammo.

As already noted, most guns have that feature today. A notable exception (at least as far as I know) has been the Ruger designs using a rotary magazine, the follower location in it not amicable for actuating a stop off to the side of receiver where such is normally located, nor is the spool spring strong enough to actuate such a stop. This all said particularly in regards to the rimfires.

When hands-on shopping for a gun, such a feature is easily determined if present, and if gun locked and shop refuses to unlock, they at least should be able to tell if the gun has such a feature.
