the sound of gunfire is less than a happy sound. My subconscious mind automatically counts off the rounds while my conscious mind wonders, "is that a drunk celebrating, or did someone just get ventilated?" Sure do miss living where gunfire is the sound of freedom. Fortunately, the sound of gunfire here's rare, we usually hear fireworks instead. Funny how many can't tell the difference.
