some ammo is breaking loose a little at a time
we got almost 20,000 rounds of 9mm and 45 ACP in this morning and I figured with the ammo becoming a bit more available the prices would go down, but not so. Still running around $1 a round for FMJ and $1.50 a round for the Hornady Critical Duty 9m and 45.
Right now the hunters are the ones that are hurting. We haven't had any of the main hunting rounds in a month or so. That includes 7 mag, 300 Mag, 30-06, 30-30, 270 and so on. Got plenty of handgun ammo but real low on rifle ammo other than 223/5.56. I talked to one of the gun shops here in town and when we are out of something I tell folks to try these guys and they do the same when they don't have any ammo. The fellow I talked to said they are pretty much in the same bind we are in. Plenty of handgun ammo but very little rifle ammo.
We got as note from our distributors saying that powder is beginning to trickle in which it is. We got about 40 lbs of powder in the last few days but a lot of it is the CFE stuff. Guys that are hurting for hunting ammo don't give diddly about a powder that cleans your bore. The distributors also said that 100 million primers were made in the last month, but we haven't seen any.
If I sound a bit disappointed, I am. When I saw UPS rolling 3 dollys of ammo boxes in thie morning I thought sure there was some hunting ammo in there, but not a bit. All 9mm and 45 ACP. All ordered in February and all back orders. Same old shit.
