But the gun was longer than me and weighed about 10% of what I did. It was hopeless to try to hold it straight and align the sights, I had about 1/2 a second.
The "pod" allows it to rest and I could turret around. In my safe I have an original Medford, OR first run Chipmunk .22 that weighs less than 3 lbs. I put a 4X scope on it that's light too. They originally had Douglas barrels on them. I wish I had brought it for those boys to shoot. I think about 35 yrs. ago I mortised the wood under the butt and hid the original peep sight! I need to check.
