Cool and Rain All Day

We barely got into the 50's today. The rain started about 4AM and has gone on all day ... heavy at times. The back 40 looks like a lake. The river is up. The road construction the State was so careful to do is a muddy, pot-holed, washed out mess.

I spent most of the day in the shop loading .38 Special, .357 Magnum, .44 Special and .45 ACP that we fired at the recent CSA in Arkansas. I have some .44 Special left to load and will finish that up tomorrow the Good Lord willing.

Been thinking about buying a shortwave radio. I used to listen to shortwave years ago. I had an old Hallicrafter tube receiver and a 90 foot longwire. I could pick up stations all over the world. It was always interesting to hear a news story from the USA perspective and then listen to the Russian, British, Chinese etc perspective. Often sounded like 4 or 5 different happenings.

Ya'll stay dry! I may start up a fire in the fireplace tonight.

Jim you are right

Back in the 60’s and 70’s a good short wave receiver could get you a good worldwide perspective on the news. I’ve been following a news site online that’s called 1440. It’s like the old fashioned Walter Cronkite reporting. A good thing to have, in my opinion is a short wave base station. Then you can not only receive but transmit and communicate with others around the world when the internet, cell towers and cable lines are down!
