I have a 20" HBAR that I pieced together
but I really wanted a light weight 20" "pencil" type barrel. Boy have they dried up. I have found the "Govt." type barrel with the Pencil contour to the gas block, then it's HB contour to the end. I'm told there is only 4 oz. difference in weight from the light profile. But WHERE the weight is, they say, really makes a difference.
I even thought of changing calibers for fun but the 20" is not a popular tube length right now with a conventional 0.750" gas block. I thought of a .450 A2 but no front sight posts / gas blocks of that type, in that diameter (near an inch ID).
Any experiences? I know it's subtle but I really like the A2 with a very light barrel.
