would be half the daily rates, which is normally $450 a day for 7 days which would be in the $3200 range plus a couple of Govmt fees, so you would pay half of that and the other half just before the hunt. That usually works out to around $2000 up front. These figures are just a rough idea of the up front cost based on my last 3 or 4 safaris, so give or take a bit. If you went to Africa and didn't shoot anything, that daily rate would be your main cost. That is why Africa is such a great place to hunt.
That Brown Bear hunt that Brian T. posted above was $45,000 plus tags etc and if you didn't even see a bear you still pay the $45,000. In Africa you only pay for what you kill. So for that $45,000 I could go to Africa 3 times and take a lot of animals. That is why Africa is such a great deal.
