Spent the afternoon cutting and grinding venison. We had boned the meat out and then frozen it hard. When we went to grind it we used the chop saw to cut the frozen meat, ran it through a coarse grind and then a fine grind. Came out perfect. Got about 20 pounds of ground venison. Four pounds of it is cooking for chili right now.

Cutting the meat with the chop saw produced a lot of venison sawdust. We gathered about 2 pounds of it to add to the dogs food. The dogs were hanging around getting all the bits and parts they could while we were cutting and grinding.

Hate to break it to you my brother, but you are as redneck as me.

Thanks! I take that as a compliment. :)

the morning, you might find a coyote or two hanging around brought in my the smell of fresh meat.

LMAO! Try a fine finish blade, less spatter!

I loved it actually. The manager quickly saw I was very trustworthy and reliable so he left early with instructions and it was all me working the stock and stores. The meatcutter quickly caught on and began to depart about an hour later. Always left me with a list of what he wanted done.

One duty was to wash the meat saw. It was literally a cast frame bandsaw. We cut all sorts of meat on it. His instructions were to use hot water and ammonia for cleaning it up. It's good stuff if you don't huff it much. We never had any bacteria issues at all.

That rip blade is a mite coarse. But any port in the storm.

we whelped out a beagle bitch. I'd go to our local meat cutter and get the "saw dust" from that bandsaw. We'd cook it up and mix it with her regular food, she never lost weight or ran out of milk feeding her pups. Bone, sinew, marrow and meat all mixed together - super food for a nursing mother.
