Shooting the 1862 Police Model

I first loaded it with light loads of Pyrodex P and of course it shot high. I mean, with the little bitty bead on the on the barrel I figured it would.

Shooting full power loads with Pyrodex P and with 3Fg Black Powder, it still shot high as I figured it would.

I took a small jeweler's file and cut the rear sight notch in the hammer deeper.

I drop the bead to the bottom of the notch and hold 6 o'clock on the 8" 15 yard gong and it's "ON" every shot.

I need to put it on paper to see exactly where it's hitting but it's a lot closer now. I figure to get it on at 50 feet I am going to have to cut it some deeper.
