couldn't see the lion from 10 feet. In fact we couldn't see him from 5 feet in front of the Land Cruiser. In this pic the Land Cruiser was about 5 feet from the lion. I couldn't see the lion.

John, the PH, told the tracker who was driving the truck to back up as he said later that if we had passed the lion, typical cat, he would have come up into the truck with us.
This is from about 10 feet. I still couldn't see the cat. Now that I know where he is I can see the top of his head.

John told me that if we got on a cat in the thorns and thick grass, if we put a bullet in him, he would jump straight up in the air and do a flip and for me to hit him again and don't let him get his feet solid on the ground as he would come into the truck after us. With the 378 GNR G-2 I took a shot at what I thought was his upper body. I was wrong. It was his lower body but it was a hit on him at least.

He did his flip and when he settled down I hit him again with the 378 GNR.

After 3 shots into him he started to run off.

I hit him as he turned to run and then switched to the 510 GNR with the open sights.
The next shot was with the 510 as he headed toward the trees. He is in the upper center of the pic.

From there we have no pics. He hid under the tree but he was about gone. I got out of the truck and walked up on him. He was still breathing so I put 3 shots into him from about 15 feet or so. He died under the tree. And I thank Michael Mendes for the pictures.
