Reeder Custom Guns - So a Dillon (550B) can use normal dies...

the instructions suggest to have a separate crimp/seat die and I understand why but think with care could be worked around.

So basically one needs a "conversion kit" for varied calibers that has the shell plate, pins, index wheel, and powder actuator funnel? You could use say .45 ACP shell plates for anything '06 size head but the funnel thing would need to be addressed for powder?

it drops the powder thru the die as it expands the neck. All the other dies are the same as normal dies. They like to have a separate die for seating and crimping but that is not really necessary.

Lots of tuning. But I figure after I do it some and understand the workings it will be useful on high volume loading.

In your experience, what are the most useful accessories? The clip on trays for projectiles and loaded rounds look good. They always show the “roller handle” and low powder indicator. I’ve wondered their actual practicality.

primer tubes. I color code the plastic tips of mine for small or large size primers. Get a couple of extra primer slide springs. If the 550 is set up for 9mm you need to order one of the new style 9mm sizer dies. Your sizer dies are carbide dies but still lube your cases. It makes things a lot better and smoother.

I inherited one from a friend… starting to unbox and see.
