Reeder Custom Guns - well shot the .500 GNR this afternoon

I looked at burn rates chart or two to see where HS6 fell I have some data for a 500 specials using Herco of which I have at times used a lot.. anyway HS 6 is slower-- so with what Gary said about 14 gr in a .44 and my data and HS6 being slower I started with 15.5 gr- all was well-- had to hit 2 primers 3 times --not happy about that-I pretty much have the 6" .500 GNR sighted with a 3 power Burris....just need to work on the elevation... so it was 15.5 gr over a 380 gr home cast WLN, CCI 350 primer - I am sure the speed is around 1000 fps?-- so will have to go up as I want to be at 1100 to hunt with it.. it is my late sons 5 gun so it was a touching evening for me. Now are there any quirks with the .500 it is a bottle neck although not like my .410...
I do not know how much I can go up with the HS6 will chrono maybe Thursday - iF needed I have some 4227 and H110 -- if you guys have anything to add please do--oh and no offense when I asked about the .500 I have a .41 GNR and .410 and bottle necks can be different --over all had fun

do well. The 4227 has more of a rounded pressure spike and not the sharp spike that the JH-110 and 296 have. It is a bit more forgiving if you run it up a bit too hot. Watch your cases and primers for pressure signs. Watch for bulges at the base of the case and either real flat primers or cratered primers. If either of these shows up, don't go any hotter.
