Saw this today. Personally not into 10mm, but with all these different factory offerings the 10mm has a real chance this time around.
Ordered a 4” no safety version from my local dealer

the optics ready with no safety, the optics ready with safety and a couple of others. I am very fond of the 10mm. Kase was written up in 2 magazines for being one of 2 custom gun guys responsible for bringing the 10mm back with his Ultimate 10 several years ago.
The only thing I don't care for with the new S&W 10mm is the extremely high front and rear sights. That will hang up on everything, including many holsters. Not sure why they did this, but I guess they had their reasons. I hope this model does better than the 1006 and the other models they came out with in the early 90s.
I plan to mount an optic on it but will change

Out those ridiculous sights first chance I get. I assume they are planning a threaded barrel version maybe?
the only bad side of that I see is the 4" barrel

a 10mm with a 4" barrel will be not much more than a 40 S&W. If they are going to put out a special 10mm then at least make it a 6" long slide. Give it some balls.
I imagine they are testing the waters

I have owned Lord knows how many 10mms and prefer the 1911 platform or a revolver for hunting over the striker fired guns. This will be in the carry gun rotation and fun gun. I figure a 10mm out of a 4 inch is still better than a .40 out of a 4 inch
The 10mm is good, not a cannon but good

It's almost a hot .41 Special, er .400 anyway. With hot factory loadings it can go places a little sketchy for .45 acp. Too risky to market really hot .45, but 10 should be safe.
The .400 bullets have good sectional density past 170/180 grs and will penetrate well. My 200 gr. cast run 1300 and I have a 230 gr. I have pushed to 1300 for hunting purposes. But I have prepped my gun special for it (not a swinging link 1911), and I'm not shooting hundreds of rounds. It feels good to have a 15-shot mag and a back up full of that level. I hit max level with the 200 gr. FNGC at 1400 fps. Longshot powder rules with AA#7 a close second.
Kase and I have hunted hogs with the Ultimate 10 and

it has done very well on large hogs. Kase shot a big feral hog up the ass with 3 rounds of 10mm and one of them exited the front chest, so penetration has been very good with the 180 and 200 grain JHPs. There is no comparison of the 10mm to a 45 ACP. Apples and oranges.
Back in the late 80s Kase and I hunted exotic deer at Tellico Junction with the old Bren 10 pistols and with proper shot placement they did very well on the 90 lb deer.
Cool, not many Bren-10 shooters around! You & Crockett. Lol

More so how the Italians copied it even more in their modded clones. Other than sourcing correct magazines (wasn’t that a Bren problem too?) the TZ versions are really nice shooters!
With the slide the same thickness as the frame I tend to grab it too in a rush and have to adapt a bit. We have an IMI .45 that is also a sort of distant clone. Good guns though, all of them.
Really been taking a hard look at CZ TS 2.

CZ makes great guns, SP-01 tactical, and several of their bolt guns i have, continue to impress the more i shoot them!
I had a nice CZ75D but the trigger reach bothered me.

It was a fantastic gun though, I made some good trade money with it. The Italian guns are half of that price.

I still can't believe people use 10mm handguns to hunt cape buffalo, I just can't imagine using that.
they did it illegally and got their PH in a lot of trouble

Yeah I just couldn't believe they did that, when a lot of countries won't even allow a .375 H&H for large dangerous game some dudes are out there with a 10mm pop gun blazing away. On one of the other handgun hunting boards I said it was a stunt to try that and I got called an idiot, they told me bullet technology has changed the "game". I haven't been on that board since.
I think we know which ones were the idiots.

I wouldn't doubt it a bit, that's a ridiculous choice of caliber for an animal that size and that dangerous to hunt. I think he used a Dan Wesson so I'm sure CZ spent a fortune on that hunt. Hate to see any animal have to be to be shot that many times.
